Back Story

I have searched foolishly for answers for so many years.

While searching I begged, prayed, pleaded. I will never forget all the crying and fit throwing either.

And what about the anger and sadness? Chasing contentment kicked me hard.

When I think about my struggles, lyrics from a country music song play in my head, “Girl, you’ll remember what your knees are for.”

F. Scott Fitzgerald once said, “It’s hard to feel sorry for a boy on a boat.” Of course the boy would have been a millionaire, and the boat, a yacht.

But during all those years I felt so sad, lost and well, rudderless, like that boy on the boat…my life really wasn’t that bad so I must be.

That statement was absolutely right. No my life wasn’t so terrible. I must Be.

The turning point took awhile to arrive—years actually. And for years, I beat myself up for being the problem in my own life. But one day something clicked. One day I realized: “It’s not me. It’s something else.”

Knowing that my yellow brick road would also have pits and valleys, I finally understood what people meant when they said: “Live for the journey, not the destination.”

By 2000, operation “Fix Allyn” was well under way. As I came out of my terribleness, I vowed to help others do the same. I wrote a book. Launched a speaking and consulting business and reached out to others.

The end result: Peace, happiness and success beyond my imagination.

A side benefit is a new, dynamic program called Catch Your Dream: And Live It! designed to help you move forward in a big way. When Pam Boyer and I developed the program, we had one goal in mind—to help others move forward while making the “fixing” time much shorter.
